Cognitive Therapy is a program helping nutritionists with patients follow up during a nutritional therapy and eating disorders treatment.

An IT system designed for psychological follow-up of patients during nutritional therapy and eating disorders treatment.

In this manner, nutritionists can provide patients with psychological support, which is essential for a complete and effective treatment.

It is made up of different operating modules:

  • Examining patient noncompliance with meal plans
  • Determining reasons for noncompliance
  • Assessing eating disorders

Examination of patient noncompliance with meal plans

This feature allows for an introductory investigation on patient noncompliance with the meal plan. A video questionnaire is proposed in order to classify dietary transgressions and any occurring minor or major factor that may influence the treatment outcome. Those factors are saved at each appointment in order to determine patient progress over time. The analysis is made easier by the possibility to show the patient a series of food pictures, with different illustrated quantities, in order to accurately assess transgression type, frequency and extent.
Therefore, by means of the Picture function, you will access over 350 high-resolution pics of different food categories.

Determining reasons for noncompliance

After an initial interview with the patient, where the reasons to go on a diet are usually stated, the program will show you a level scale going from one to ten, with the first and last value representing respectively the lowest and highest motivation level, so that patients will have to identify their degree of motivation. The results of the interview, when repeated at every appointment, allows you to develop a chart for checking any motivation decrease or increase.

Eating disorder analysis

Patient behavior and statements that are clear expressions of any resistance in following the meal plan will be taken into account. COGNITIVE THERAPY carries out an investigation which allows you to specifically identify and define any eating disorder affecting the patient.
While carrying out these examinations, an in-depth analysis will appear on screen. A further available option is to print documents for the patient. They are specifically designed to raise awareness of current issues, also including cartoons to make them more visually expressive. “ART”, the cartoon protagonist, is a fictional character designed and created by PROGEO.
